Here's to hoping all the dogs go and eat the owner.

So he was chained up outside next to the car? The owner deserves what he got. Thank God the dog got a chance to move on.

Just because the VH chassis is aluminum doesn't mean that every part bolted to the car is... and front fenders with their complex curves and headlight portals, are probably easier to manufacture in composite, than in aluminum.

Well in the article quotes him as saying he re-homed the dog because it wasn't getting along with his other dog, and the car chewing was the last straw.
I can speak from experience that not everyone who has to find a new home for a dog is a bad person. My parents had to do this.
They had 1 dog, a 70 lb female ridgeback mix from the pound who they adored, spent all this time and effort training her, great dog. They decided to start fostering other dogs from the pound. So of course the first dog they fostered, they ended up adopting, this one being like a 10 month old female some other kinda mutt, about 45 lbs. Same thing, gave her tons of training, love and attention, and also a great dog.
They loved both dogs, but once the second dog grew up she started challenging the bigger dog's dominance. They would have crazy knock down drag out fights, one time my dad had to jump on them in the living room to separate them. They went to a behavioral vet who said that the younger smaller dog would keep on challenging the bigger older dog. So my folks decided to adopt out the younger dog.
They live in DC, and my dad sent an email around to his office seeing if anyone (or their friends/family) wanted to adopt the dog. Someone's sister with a farm in Ohio ended up wanting the dog, so my dad and sister drove the dog halfway to meet these people in West Virginia, handed her over, and cried all the way home.
Just sayin...

Yep, Wikipedia agrees:
The exterior skin is largely aluminium, though the front bumpers and bonnet are composite. [14]
